“People do things for their reasons  –  not yours”. I heard Zig Ziglar say that many years ago and it has stuck with me ever since.

According to Dr. John Demartini, people will always behave in ways that are congruent with their highest values.

You may be wondering why people don’t do what you would like them to do, why that customer doesn’t seem to want to buy your product, or your boss just doesn’t understand how valuable you are.

If you can understand another person’s highest values, in other words what really means something to them, then you will understand why they do what they do and you will start to see them completely differently.

You will start to see that it is not that they don’t want to buy your product or that they don’t understand the value you bring. It is just that these things are not as important to them as they are to you and that isn’t right or wrong, good or bad, it just is.

If you can start to understand what is really important to them and speak with them in a language that resonates with their highest values, you will have their attention.
